After decades (at least 4 months) under Assyrian rule (of the fridge), the Corinthian Dominion saw itself again in the winner’s circle of a game of 7 Wonders Duel. The Dominion came with a bold strategy to pretend to do what the Legacy expected, invest in the sciences, then boldly switch into military pressure. The feint worked and the Legacy spent several of their early turns blocking the sciences at the expense of their own development. When the Dominion pivoted to military and resource development they were able to take a commanding lead and stole much of the Legacy’s early-game wealth.

The Assyrian Legacy were not without their bright spots. A strong investment in their merchantile quarter solved the problem of their underdeveloped resources and they were able to pour gold into developing a reactive military. There was no quit and they were first build their 4 great wonders.

In the end, however, there was nothing that could have stopped the Dominion’s military, guilds, and leverage of building chains. They rocketed to a 30 point win and have solidified their spot on the fridge.

A Montreal-based roastery with a distinctively French Canadian name, Jean Guy, was served at the table with some fruit and cheese.
