Chuck Wilbur stunned the crowd with a phenominal race in only their second race in Formula OSC. They drove out to an early lead and kept the pressure on the reigning champion and favorite Crash Dandyboots. A careful and considered approach to the initial lap gave way to fierce racing through the curves of the Great Britain racetrack and only after burning his engine to a crisp did Crash manage to take the win by a mere car’s length. Asked about it after the race the driver was kind of a jerk:

I expected the race to go my way and it did. WINNER!

The podium was rounded out by the crowd favorite, Alonso, who struggled to handle the pressure and spun out in the second corner of the second lap. She brought some further drama by taking a shortcut through the last two corners of the race. The cheeky driving brought a stewards complaint from the Crash Dandyboots team who were, again, being kind of jerks about the whole thing. The stewards, however, found that Alonso was justified in skipping the two corners because having to do them again would be “too harsh!”.

Cold coffee and cold beer were consumed on the 40 degree day along with some tasty popcorn, banana cream stuffed pastries, and the traditional bowl of mixed nuts.
